“Episode 14.01 – Farewells and Final Flames: Darren Ritter’s Return and the Major Shake-Up at Firehouse 51”

Summary:
Even though the Chicago franchise remains one of the most exciting on NBC, fans of Chicago Fire feel that the show hasn’t survived the recent changes well.
– Due to a couple of season 12 departures and the inconsistent presence of Taylor Kinney, many are starting to lose interest in the show.
– However, that doesn’t mean Chicago Fire is doomed
– Fans suggest going through a rebranding and moving the story to Oregon as a solution.

While it’s absolutely heartbreaking to hear about the cancellation of your favorite show, it’s even more heartbreaking to realize that the show you once enjoyed no longer evokes any emotion in you. Slowly dragged out for more and more seasons, shows like this usually end up being watched out of sheer nostalgia and hope for the better.

So far, Chicago Fire has been good and entertaining until season 11, when the show lost Taylor Kinney’s Kelly Severide to a leave of absence. Now, in season 12, two more people have left, and Kinney’s comeback doesn’t feel final either. The only thing fans seem to want now is for the story to move somewhere else.

Will There be Chicago Fire Season 13?

Even though NBC recently renewed Chicago Fire for another season, fans are skeptical about what exactly they are going to show. Without Brett and Casey, and with Mouch on the verge of retirement and Severide always leaving, whether by choice or some other kind of mystery, there are very few characters that fans are really interested in.

The biggest solution fans see to this problem is to create a spinoff that would follow the fan favorites to Oregon and focus on how the couple will adjust to their life there.
Whether it will be another procedural of a similar style, or some kind of sitcom-like show with a lighter mood and more focus on the domestic interpersonal relationship, the viewers are already hooked.

“It would be interesting to see a different city and how the operations of firefighting happens. You also have the added bonus of wildfires in the west so that opens a whole new world of firefighting. I think it would be neat to see Griffin at the academy or a candidate at Matt’s house. I would also like to see Matt and Sylvie live the domestic life,” Redditor _wonder_girl_ said.

Looking at the precedent set by NCIS with its Tiva spinoff, anything is possible if fans show enough support for the idea. After the release of Dick Wolf’s Homicide series on Netflix, the producer might want to look into the possibility of partnering with the streaming service again, this time to further explore the relationship of a fan-favorite couple.
Unfortunately, this idea is only backed up by fandom speculation at this point. But keep an eye out for the latest Chicago Fire news and behind-the-scenes updates, and tune in every Wednesday to make sure you never miss another episode.
