The Bold and The Beautiful spoilers and updates acknowledge fans are used to shocking plot twists. But the soap better have the biggest twist ready if they want to keep *this* character around… because it seems there is no escape from the situation they’ve been put in!
Talk About Being Written Into A Corner-
No one could understand how Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) not only got Luna Nozawa (Lisa Yamada) released into his custody under home arrest, but also had her homicide charges completely dismissed.
Honestly, even if he used every last favor he had in the legal system to make this happen, it still doesn’t add up. However, Luna received her much-desired second chance… and made a huge mess of it.
She shot off another toe of her grandma Sheila Carter’s (Kimberlin Brown) and not even on the opposite foot so they’d match!
Additionally, she almost killed Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) and would have succeeded if he hadn’t shot her after being shot himself, having taken her gun!
Luna Wasn’t Really Rehabilitated, And She Wasn’t Really Dead Either!
Luna was neither rehabilitated nor redeemed, despite her constant claims to the opposite, and she posed a threat to anyone who encountered her (and even some who didn’t).
Viewers of Bold & Beautiful could predict the shoot-out at the beach house/school from a long way off; it was no shock that Luna’s fixation on “seeing her father” led to three near-fatal incidents. Even those closest to her could sense that Luna is completely unstable.
However, her aunt/grandmother, Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda), believed she could change the psychopath, as long as she could keep her alive.
Ignoring everything Bill went through, she took Luna’s nearly lifeless body from the hospital to her living room, where she began a plan that can only be described as completely misguided.
Li And Sheila Teamed Up To Care For Luna-Li Didn’t Want Her In Prison
Li informed Sheila, who forced her way into the cover-up, that Luna would be stuck in prison for life if she had kept her alive at the hospital.
This is where it gets complicated, as Li suggested that if she could care for Luna at her home, she could prevent her from going to jail and fix everything-but… how?
Unless Li is considering giving Luna a face transplant before releasing her back into society, it’s hard to see how she can avoid the repercussions of her actions.
Even if, like Bill, Li manages to get her off the charges, Luna will be even more despised than she was before by everyone involved… she almost killed Saint Liam, after all.
And it’s not like Li hiding Luna and faking her death is an original idea-she did the same thing with John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan).
How Can The CBS Soap Keep Luna On The Canvas?
It wasn’t surprising when it was disclosed that Luna emerged from all this not with amnesia or guilt, but rather with her obsession for Will Spencer (Crew Morrow) at the forefront.
This news clearly indicated that Bold & Beautiful will require a significant plot twist to maintain Luna as a relevant character.
However, considering B&B and its sister soap, The Young And The Restless, have been managing Sheila for more than thirty years, do you believe Luna can be redeemed, or will she turn into the new Sheila?
