Lioness, the spy thriller from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan, has landed itself a new streaming home in the UK.
The show premiered on Paramount+, where it is still available, but it will be soon be added to ITVX.
As announced in a press release, “the first series of the high-stakes thriller will stream on ITVX from 7 September” while season 2 will come to the service in 2026.
The show stars Zoe Saldaña as a high-ranking CIA officer who is part of an all-female anti-terrorist team, with Nicole Kidman and Morgan Freeman playing her superiors.
“We’re thrilled to be bringing such a high-octane series to ITVX,” head of content acquisitions Sarah Breslau said.

“With a stellar cast led by Zoe Saldaña, and Nicole Kidman and Taylor Sheridan’s signature storytelling at the helm, Lioness is another great addition to our premium line-up of international drama series.”
Over on Rotten Tomatoes, the show has quite the discrepancy in the responses to the two seasons.
Season 1 has 36 critic reviews collated, with 56% of them positive. Season 2 only has 10 reviews, but 90% of them are positive.

“It’s an effective action thriller, albeit one that only goes skin deep,” wrote the Daily Telegraph for season 1. “There is none of Homeland‘s complexity and the dialogue is cheesy in a Top Gun sort of way.”
“Despite occasionally stretching plausibility, Taylor Sheridan’s latest event TV series mixes explosive espionage action with domestic issues to mostly absorbing effect,” Empire Magazine stated.
“Season 2 of Lioness marks a definite upgrade over its predecessor, delivering a more gripping plot while staying true to the show’s core ethos,” reads The Times of India‘s review. “It’s bolder, more thrilling, and features sharper character development.”
Lioness is available on Paramount+, with season 1 also coming to ITVX on 7 September and season 2 coming in 2026.
