“Season 14 Premiere ‘New Beginnings’—Firehouse 51 Shakes Up with Returns, Departures, and a Brand New Face”

The wait for new episodes of One Chicago is almost over, and NBC has finally given fans something to buzz about. With the October 1 premieres just around the corner, the network has unveiled striking new key art for Chicago MedChicago Fire, and Chicago PD.

While the promo posters don’t give away any new storylines, they do lock in the return of 21 familiar faces across the three hit dramas. For fans eager to know who’s back — and who’s missing — the new artwork speaks volumes.

Chicago Med: Season 11 Brings Big Shifts

The Chicago Med season 11 poster confirms the return of several beloved characters. Featured in the art are:

  • Steven Weber (Dean Archer)

  • Jessy Schram (Hannah Asher)

  • Luke Mitchell (Mitch Ripley)

  • Sarah Ramos (Caitlin Lenox)

  • Darren Barnet (John Frost)

  • S. Epatha Merkerson (Sharon Goodwin)

  • Oliver Platt (Daniel Charles)

One face missing is Marlyne Barrett (Maggie Lockwood). Barrett’s exit was recently confirmed, but her departure is said to leave the door open for a return in the future. This suggests Maggie’s storyline will likely wrap with a softer exit, keeping hope alive for fans who want her back at Gaffney Medical.

Chicago Fire: Familiar Faces and Major GoodbyesWho Died In Chicago Fire Season 13, Episode 15 & How Their Death Will Change The Show Moving Forward

Over at Firehouse 51, Chicago Fire season 14’s key art highlights eight returning regulars:

  • Taylor Kinney (Kelly Severide)

  • David Eigenberg (Christopher Herrmann)

  • Joe Minoso (Joe Cruz)

  • Christian Stolte (Randall “Mouch” McHolland)

  • Miranda Rae Mayo (Stella Kidd)

  • Hanako Greensmith (Violet Mikami)

  • Jocelyn Hudon (Lyla Novak)

  • Dermot Mulroney (Dom Pascal)

Notably absent are Daniel Kyri (Darren Ritter), Jake Lockett (Sam Carver), and Michael Bradway (Jack Damon). All three are exiting the show. Lockett’s departure was already teed up in the season 13 finale, but fans will have to wait to see how Ritter and Damon’s exits are handled.

The loss of three firefighters is sure to shake things up at 51, even as Severide, Kidd, and the rest of the team step into another high-stakes season.

Chicago PD: Stability with One Key Change

Compared to its sister shows, Chicago PD is keeping things steady. Season 13’s key art features:

  • Jason Beghe (Hank Voight)

  • Marina Squerciati (Kim Burgess)

  • Patrick John Flueger (Adam Ruzek)

  • LaRoyce Hawkins (Kevin Atwater)

  • Benjamin Levy Aguilar (Dante Torres)

  • Amy Morton (Trudy Platt)

But there is one confirmed departure — Toya Turner (Kiana Cook) will not return after just one season. Her exit clears the way for Arienne Mandi to join the cast as the newest member of the Intelligence Unit.

NBC has held back on including Mandi in the key art, keeping her debut under wraps until official episode stills drop.

Newcomers Held Back

Interestingly, NBC also left out Chicago Fire newcomer Brandon Larracuente, as well as Chicago PD’s Arienne Mandi. This is not unusual for One Chicago shows. The franchise has often chosen to highlight established stars in its early artwork, saving fresh faces for episodic promos and behind-the-scenes teases.

Fans already got a few glimpses of the new additions in set photos, but the first official looks will likely come once NBC releases episodic stills ahead of the premieres.

The Countdown to One Chicago Wednesdays

With Chicago Med season 11, Chicago Fire season 14, and Chicago PD season 13 all premiering October 1, NBC’s One Chicago Wednesdays are officially set to dominate primetime again.

Between confirmed returns, shocking exits, and new faces waiting in the wings, the fall premiere is shaping up to be one of the most dramatic yet for the franchise.
